Hydrostatic control lever

Hello Guys,

I looked on the forum for this but no luck.

My HYDROSTATIC CONTROL LEVER will only go 3/4 the way to full. I don't have the speed like other 332's. Is there a linkage or adjustment I have to adjust? Are there any instructions on this?

thank you

Re: Hydrostatic control lever

Good luck with the manual procedures. I had the exact same problem on a 430 and was told to go through the exact same steps. No help. Then I noticed another hole in the control arm that rotates the shaft going into the tranny. I put the long rod from the hydro lever into the lower hole and not only got all the speed, but I also got even more than I had originally. I did have to readjust the turnbuckle on the rod to balance out reverse and forward but it wasn't that much trouble. I had the factory service manual for the 430 which is the same tranny as the 318/322/332 and it was a long horrible procedure that required taking the whole thing apart and inspecting for wear and slop. It would actually be easier to buy a used tranny than comply with their steps.
