Replacing blades on John Deere Graden Tractor 105

Is it absolutely necessary to drop the blade housing, drag it from under the mower, then replace blades? Can the whole tractor be turned on it's side.? What would it hurt? Would it ruin or mess up the plugs, oil, etc. If not I think I might be able to replace the blades without hauling it in for 60 miles to have it done? thanx!

Ps...the Garden mower is a JD 105.

Jack the front end up and put stands under it, get a 3/8" impact gun and spin them off, sharpen them, and replace. easy peasy.

Been driving Deeres since 1974, Dodges since 1984, and Davidsons since 2004. Love my wife and kids I'm a blessed man.

I don't think I could lift my 455 on it's side, weighs 1000 pounds, deck adds another 300.

No reason to try to get it on its side..you will foul up the oil in the engine.if you don't have jack stands look on CL....they are always available for less than 20 bucks for a decent pair...21/2-3 ton ( I saw a pair for two dollars a a garage sale today.....but they were light weight)
