Scott's By John Deere Garden Tractor

Hi Guys, Im looking at a Scott's by John Deere Garden Tractor today..Its a model M02554..Looks like a 2001 vintage...Are they good tractors? It appears to be the same as a GT-John Deere? Has a 54" deck and looks to be in good shape...Going to use it on my Hunting Land to mow my yard and trails.
Thanks!
Tom

Orange colored Sabre by John Deere. Basically an L or D series Deere.
I've had a smaller Sabre for years and once I got it cleaned up, no problems.

A good tune up, good fuel and oil and you should get many years of service.

If it works as good as my L17.542, you’ll appreciate that it just keeps ticking. Not a lot of fluff, but certainly a dependable tractor. The 25 hp engine will be strong enough to run the 54” deck and will certainly take care of your camp and trails.

Its the same as Deere G100. Kohler command 25 and K66 hydrostatic trans. Accepts same attachments as a GT275. Entry level GT. Its good to go in my opinion.

Make sure to drain and switch hydro trans to synthetic 5w/50 engine oil. Sargeant will soon be along with his wealth of info.

I bought one of those in 2001. Used it on my 2 acre yard for about 3 years until I purchased my x595. Then it went to my mother-in-law's house. It's been there ever since, and it's still going strong.
