Re: Don't do me wrong man! 332

Alrighty then............. So my OCD would not let me get just one tire so I bought 2. Plus I hate fighting with these small tires and I bought the HF small tire changer.

Now to get the tires swapped out. Then I need to mow the back 40!

I figure I'll get a fuel filter and some diesel "cleaner" and throw a little in ever fill up since I plane on running 50/50 diesel and WVO.

Probably a good idea to change them out together. I have a large tire changer and don't have it bolted down, it's always interesting to change them when you're also fighting to keep the device upright. So if you can bolt it down to something.

I have an old coats 40/40 tire changer for my "bigger stuff" but it will not do my 8" rims for the tractors. The 40/40 is not bolted down but I have not had a problem yet. I have changed so many tires it's not funny. BUT I will need to bolt down the mini. now to figure out where?

Re: Don't do me wrong man! 332

Well he did me wrong. I was going to swap out the lift rods from the 314 to the 332 and found that there is no rocker shaft and no lift piston! WHAT!

I contacted him and he got mad at me. Really? You couldn't tell me it didn't have this stuff on it before I bought it? heck I could have bought the one up the street ready to mow for $2K but no I bought this basket case for $900 with a bad deck and not way to lift a deck, along with a hacked wiring harness. he tells me he has them and is willing to give them to me. Also said he has a 330 that he is parting out and that I can buy the front axle and spindles. Not sure they will fit though and he hasn't given me a price yet.

Well I used the new HF tire changer and it worked pretty well. beads broke VERY easy tires came off easy, but putting the new ones on was a pain. I'm going to have to modify things. I clamped it in my bench vise for now until I find a permanent place to mount it.

The tires are still holding air so I guess I'm good.

I put 3+hrs of seat time in yesterday, filled it with fresh diesel and she ran great! chomped up all the new grass and the "hay" laying on top. I need to make a mount for my trac-vac so I can get all the "hay" off the yard.

Yep any of the "closed" rear end models don't have the same setup for lifting implements. You can't use 300, 312, 314, Kohler 316, or 317 for those purposes. See below that front axles are not same PN. They are the same as a 318 though.

332 Front Axle PN: 23 - FRONT AXLE
Part Number
M85069

300 Front Axle PN: 9 - FRONT AXLE

318 Front Axle PN: 24 - Front Axle
Part Number

Re: Don't do me wrong man! 332

Well he did me right again. He gave me a complete rockershaft assembly and lift piston, and was going to give me an axle off a 330 but I made him take $60.

now to get them on.

Re: Don't do me wrong man! 332

ok the front axle is in, I had to swap the 332 front spindles into the 330 front axle and they well weren't in the best shape but the wheel bearings wer a different size and the steering spindle didn't have a long enough spline shaft for the power steering connection.

But it together and steering SO much better.

It was my bad the thing did have the rocker arm. I didn't know it was in the back so now I have an extra shaft and piston. Gonna try and use the piston for my 48" plow blade to make it angle.

I still can't figure out how the deck is supposed to lift. I'm not a dummy, the piston moves, but the arms don't and the lift rods are way off as far as I can see.

I'll have to research it and figure it out.

I fixed the wiring for the starter but as I was reaching to turn the key it snapped off at the head.

I put a new Kevlar PTO belt on it and sharpened the blades too. I just need to figure out how to get the lift rods in the right spot to lift the deck.
