GT235 help

I have a free GT235 that I have been working on and have ran into a problem getting it back together. I took off the fender deck to replace the fuel line and the tank grommet but now I cant figure out how to get the forward and reverse pedals to work. I took the pedals off and now have found out I didnt need to. The parts diagram linked below doesnt really help me. I dont understand how the reverse pedal works. I got the forward pedal to work but the reverse is just completely limp. There isnt a linkage going to that pedal itself and it doesnt bolt to the forward pedal. I am stumped. I havent been able to work on it all at one time so I have forgotten/didnt pay attention to how it went together. thanks

Re: GT235 help

There is a thick steel lever on the inside of the reverse shaft that pushes down on the ball bearing that is bolted to the back side of the forward lever.

Bio, I learned the hard way also! A picture is worth a thousand words and about 2 months of additional labor because you forgot how it came apart! In the future, take a picture of EVERYTHING that you're going to dismantle...you'll thank yourself, believe me! Bob
