Picked up a 332

I just picked up a 332....
Runs well, seems to be in "ready for work" condition.... but needs some cosmetic cleanup.... power wash, and a bit of paint.

I'm starting this thread thread for the cleanup, and partial restore (not a ground-up rebuild) of my new baby tractor, as I am sure I'll have questions, comments etc., as I am not too familiar with that line of Deere's...

Need to check the SN's to get the year, but it's configured as follows:
1. Base Tractor - no rear PTO, and no 3PH, 1,400 hours.
2. 46" deck - runs well
3. Snow-blower
4. Chains, wheel weights, and suitcase weights

All of them need paint. The Seat is new on the tractor though.
Battery charger works fine, so does the TDCM and glow plug. Starts fine, but needs 1/2 throttle when cold. Once warmed up, starts at idle power setting. Electric clutch works fine. Park-brake needs adjustment as it will not "set". Rear tires are in good shape - front ones are good in terms of even wear, but the thread is thin. Will consider replacement.

The PO was the 2nd owner. 1st and original was the neighbour - both took care of it well. Was told the 1st owner and the PO followed the scheduled maintenance religiously.
I have all info, including the original manual. However, I will give it a full maintenance go-over, to make sure it's ready for the season. Also will need to find a 50" deck, as the 46" will take a long time to cut my 2.5 acres.

This bad-boy is going to complement the 2305 I have.... but since this spring I need to keep the 2305 in TLB configuration at the cottage for a few months, this one will do "house-chores".... ie lawn maintenance.....

all for now... will probably start working on it in about 2-3 weeks (need to finish basement project first)

Cheers!

Yea. Terribly sorry to send out a teaser and not follow up.... was busy yesterday with the wife's b-day party, but you know what they say: there are only 2 things in life; results and excuses.

So here are the results:
Took the side panels off and the main tub
Off.... and the fuel tank and the bottom screen off as well.
Gave it a hot water bath all around amd underneath... cleaned up nice. No rust anywhere except a tiny bit on front bumper frame and in the foot wells.

Underneath and the guts look brand new. No cracks in any hoses or wires. No rust on any metal. Black paint on engine fram and everywhere else is not peeling at all. No oil leaks. Tranny input shaft u-joints is tight. All linkages are tight and free moving.

I adjusted the brakes a bit and can now set the park brake.

Need to replace air filter. Going to change engine oil, filter and coolant.

And then it just needs paint but really i could just buff and wax the hood and side panels and be done. Only the main body tub needs new paint. Basically i'll have it all done in 1 day.

Also will upgrade lights to LED bulbs for more light but without extra heat generated.

Also will install an elec switch and plug on back for my electric fertilizer spreader.

Still need to adjust RPMs - i couldn't find my tach so couldnt check low and high idle, but using my ear, high rpm sounds good. Low rpm i adjusted up a bit as it seemed too low.

Questions:
1. is there a slick way to install a tach gauge on the dash?... any good kits with an easy to install rpm sender and right sized gauge that anyone has done before and would recommend?

2. Should i install a more agressive tire (but not ag or r4) to improve traction on my hills?.... any good recommendations?

3. I included pic of name plate - could i ask for help to decipher SN to get model year?

Cheers!
