Trailer was a little tight with the inside handle brush guards rubbing. I suppose I could have adjusted straps for a slightly outward lean on each, but that seems counter to stability. I think the better plan would be to shift one or the other track forward or back about 6". I'll let that concept rattle around in the back of my mind for a little while till some awesome idea occurs to me. Or, I'll just stuff a piece of something between them and let them rest on each other. Otherwise, trailer worked great.

Detailed the SP after after some canyon carving in Malibu. If there's one machine I own that's ingrained in me, it's this bike.

You know.. the styling of those has always been a little out there for this old guy, but MAN you just cant beat those old school aircooled twins. Love how they kept it all open, and out there!!

Re: Got a motorcycle?? We want pics!!

Sorry no new pictures, but been out putting some miles on the Guzzi the last few weeks. Just got the state safety inspection on friday so Im all good and legal! Funny that on friday morning as Im getting the bike out to go to the shop, I get all suited up, and hit the starter.... nothing... not even a click. So I tossed the charger on for a hour and got a click... but no turn. WHAAAA!!! Well another charge for a bit, and pull out the VOM and find my 12vt... is down to 9 after I try to start.. shes dead!!!! So now I go out and play the game of "try to explain to the counter guy what a moto guzzi is" To add to that... these bikes take two different size batteries.. one with, and one with out the evap canister. Canister in mounted in the battery box, and takes up half... Well all the listings show mine having the big one... and it doesn't. So not believing the one in it was correct.. I took over the computer terminal, and went through all the guzzi listings till i found one.. Found one for a newer model that was higher capacity then stock... but still the size that would fit.. OUCH $115 later and my new fancy AGM battery is in the bike.. [I guess the days of a $20 motorcycle battery are over huh? ] So off to the shop a few hours late, and passed with flying colors!! So im on the road! Ill get some pics when I get some time to go for a nice long ride.

Re: Got a motorcycle?? We want pics!!

I lost all of my pics of my bikes when my hard drive died 4 years ago so I'll just post goggle pics.
So, my fist bike was a KLR 650
http://onlymotorbikes.com/public/45/...1992-moto.jpeg

Second bike was a Eliminator 900 fastest thing I ever rode, I had it up to 165 and still had throttle left. I miss that bike. I fell on hard times and traded it for a car.
https://images.offerup.com/kYC_-fdBD...b4d9fae675.jpg

The one I have now is an 883 R with a stage 1 kit so it's a 1200.
http://www.pungerer.net/pfx/HD/2007/..._stw_w1280.jpg

I need to put aback tire on the 883 so I can get it inspected and ride this year. I have the tire but not the time.

Been driving Deeres since 1974, Dodges since 1984, and Davidsons since 2004. Love my wife and kids I'm a blessed man.

Paul, at $115 for a decent motorcycle AGM battery that's not bad at all. I think I paid about that four years ago for the one in my old BMW. You don't say if your Guzzi is a classic model like my 1981 R100RS BMW or a newer but in any case they do share allot of parts believe it or not! So for future reference you might want to take a look at these websites in case you battery or starter and such go out.

Too bad the battery quit, Paul, but it's one less thing to worry about when you head out for a ride. Stay safe and enjoy the new toy!

Took the bike out today to run some errands.. Got some highway miles on it, and she runs good at speed. I gotta play around with the windscreen angle a bit.. Some buffeting once you get over 60-65. Put about 75 miles on it today and ran great! Hoping later on this week I might take the run up to Lake george NY. Ameracade is going on this week, and I havent been in MANY years. Its about a hour and a half ride for me each way. Should be fun. Loving the nice day today!!!!

Nice wide selection of bikes you've owned! The HD is nice middle of the road one to have now it sounds like for you.

Sounds like a great time! Way to jump back into it all the way by going to Ameracade; should be a great experience with that bike.

I agree 100% about nice weather improving the experience of a ride. Sunny weather plays a huge part for me. Not only does it brighten the mood but the ride too.

I like the 883R but we need something bigger for long rides. before I bought it I was riding my dad's road king. Man I like that bike. we have too much other stuff goiing on to get a bigger bike right now but I would love a low rider or a road king. There is one of both for sale local here I just can't swing $8K for one.

I used to go every year. That was back before kids though. Nice week. I would leave every morning, and come back at night. I was about 30-40 min closer then, but it was still some nice riding. Always enjoyed all the demo rides, all the other bikes, and the views, and roads up there cant be beat.

I rode the big brother of the Eliminator 900, the ZL1000. Once you got used to the top heavy gas tank in front of you, it was an absolute screamer and a joy to ride. I'd love to have one today, a very unique bike.

Coolness! I have read that the 900's were faster than the 1000's. I also believe my bike was shipped with the upgrades from the factory because I never touched it, just maintenance and tires ok rear tires and lots of them.

I could blow anything away in a 1/4 mile including the GSXR 1000. I raced a guy with a bored, built, piped, and carbed ZL900 got him by 2 bike lengths. Got a guy who swore I could not touch him and his GSXR 750. 2 bike lengths in an 1/8 mile and I was pulling away from him.

My problem with the bike is that I only weighed #170 at the time and the tire would fry because the bike is so long.

Man I wish I had that bike back. From what the dealer told me it was one of only 200 in red in 1985. The guy I traded it to said he sold it to a guy in TX. I didn't have the money to buy it back as I was laid off with a new baby.

That's ok I may be 50+ but I still know how I am and I would hurt myself on that thing today. I'll settle for a nice road king or low rider.

My oldest son sold his Nija 600R 4 years ago because he knew he was going to hurt himself. When you are now longer afraid of the power of the bike you are going to push it beyond it's limits and yours.
