Ditto.

About 2010 was the peak for me for modern vehicle and motorcycle designs and technology. Much post then has become a lot less driver focused and too computerized for my tastes but on the other hand technology since then hasn't developed this fast for quite some time in this industry either which makes it interesting to follow.

Bolens HDT1000 #11- Coming eventually!

1977 Economy Tractor
Hydraulic lift conversion
24" model front king pins
48" Belly mower

Right, how many "driver aids" does an actual driver need?

Well then good news! A fair good bit of this one is carbon fiber instead of fiberglass or melted plastic. In what color will you be ordering yours?

I don't think there has every been any sheet metal on a Corvette.

Ho hum, just another 200 mph go fast. Imho, it has lost it's personality and will get lost in a crowd of Lambos and Ferraris. My favorite Vettes were the 58-62, the low water mark came in the mid 70's.

I wonder how many editions they'll have of this generation.

I pass on that completely for that money I get a Ram 3500 Limited Diesel with a 1,000 ft/lb of torque. That is something I could use.

My John Deere Collection
2009 John Deere 2305 with Front End Loader, Backhoe and 62C Mower
2017 John Deere X590 with 54" Accel Deep Mower

I don't know about my inner child but I have a inner idiot that surfaces when I least expect it.

I like it. I also see some Ford GT in it, but I guess that some common ground design elements are bound to show themselves given mid engine packaging, drag reduction, cabin positioning, etc. I'm sure that Chevy designers had GT racing in mind too.

A Corvette badge on the front deck would have looked good (IMO), and added a little traditional Corvette identity. I can always add one.

Well, I guess the Corvette guys listened, because they already added the badge between the first, and second time I watched the Jay Leno vid.

Re: New 2020 Mid Engine Corvette Unveiled

I think it looks awesome. If some don't like it resembling a Lambo or Ferrari...I do!
When I saw it like 3 days ago I though it was a Lambo.
When you can mistake a Vetter for a Lambo, I think IT'S a GREAT THING!
Lambos have been the pinnacle of looks since the Countach 5000s for me.
Vettes were great and but not fast (quick really) enough until more recently.
I love the 3rd Gen Mako shark style but they were too slow. The C4 was boring without ground effects and wings and spoilers, C5 Boring but slightly better looking in stock form.
C6 a nice improvement in looks and quickness, C7 better in some ways in looks worse in others but nice, C8 same..some looks are better some are worse but it SCREAMS Look at me!!!

It is a shame no manual clutch option as some really like it.
Most will prefer the new trans once they get used to it.
The reason many of us bought stick is because we can really drive and can outrun an auto in a drag race. Now that autos will outrun a manual....most will want the extra couple of tenths.

I can't stand GM letting the Camaro and Vette rear end or taillights look the same! Blasphemy!!!

I really don't care where they put the engine. They will be electric motors eventually...SADLY!!

They have talked about it for decades. I lost a bit of interest when they put the trans in the middle or rear and not bolted to the engine like traditional.

I give Corvette GREAT credit though for doing what they ahve done and making a fast and fast track car with a PUSHROD V8.
I still don't like OHC as much and what when everyone says you have to use all the latest technology etc...they have been making smoking fast cars with normally aspirated pushrod V8s....JOB WELL DONE!!!

Re: New 2020 Mid Engine Corvette Unveiled

That pushrod V8 is the heart of the Vette. You can dump 20k into making one go faster and its still cheaper than a Lambo or Ferrari. Ill concede to the mid engine set up so long as they keep push rods and eight pistons without forced induction.

Vettes started as fiber glass bodies. The very first few Vettes rolled off the assembly line were in fact rolled off the line because some ding dong messed up and tried to ground the chassi to the body. They wouldnt start.

63 Vette Best Vette. No new Vette was made in 1983. 1984 were the start of dark ages of Vette styling with the C4s. But everybody wanted those rims. The C5 set high marks for having a factory 405hp motor in the Z06 models. Big numbers for 2001. But they did have the most powerful factory engine with the 1969 L88 rated at 435 but probly pushing 500+. (Better than the Hemi and 440 Six-Pack.) 1972 was the last year for chrome bumpers on any Vette.

Ive forgotten more about Vettes than most people will ever know. Most of H.S. was spent researching them when I should of been working to pay for one. Im 33 now and still havent had one. But a 66 Impala is holding me over until I can find the right Vette.

You can build a "supercar" cheaper and use whatever engine & trans you want..
This company not far from me produces custom chassis and carbon fiber bodies for several different styles of sports cars, including exact replica's of the Ford Cobra's..

I toured the factory about 7 years ago,it was quite impressive..

Interesting neighborhood you live in, if a new Vette is going to get lost in a crowd of Ferrari’s and Lamborghinis.
