Snow blade height

What are these two stabilizer things called? They adjust height of blade and I assume keep blade from getting caught up on anything drastic on the ground?

I was trying to adjust mine as low as possible to push some snow on concrete (it was previously used on gravel by past owner) and realized one of mine is bent.

Is it okay to use my blade without these? Does it depend on the surface?

Re: Snow blade height

Those are skids, primarily used for floating over gravel or maybe your frozen lawn lol. Its ok to plow without them as long as your plowing anything but gravel.

Thanks! I'm getting this all figured out on a new tractor just in time for snow season to be over. 😜
