Default Where to get Simplicity Paint

Hi,
I'm sure some of you know where I can the Simplicity Orange colored paint. I'm giving a facelift to a 1968 2210. I appreciate the help on where to find this paint. Thanks.

I pulled this off of another site a while back as I pondered the same question:

Quote:
For Products Built from 1929 through 1960
"Persian Orange" (Usually called Persian Orange#1)
--PPG DAR60080
--Martin Senour 99L-3723
--TISCO TP280
--DuPont DULUX 008DH
"Cream"
--Paint Codes Unknown

For Products Built from 1961 through 1976
"Persian Orange" (Usually called Persian Orange#2)
--PPG DAR60396
--DuPont 29047
"Allis Chalmers Cream"
--DuPont 29049
--TISCO TP270

The following are still available from Simplicity. I have listed the Simplicity Quart part numbers:

For 1977 thru Early Model Year 1985 Products
"Simplicity Orange 1685037 >>>superceded 1685591SM
"White" 1685032

For Products Built 12/1/85 thru 7/1/88.
"Classic Orange" 1685560
"White" 1685032

For Products Built 7/1/88 thru 8/1/89.
"Powder Orange" 1685591
"White" 1685032

For Products Built After 8/1/89.
"Deep Orange" 1685612
"White" 1685032
A good auto paint supplier ought to be able to do color matching and custom blend it for you but you need a good sample of the old paint.

Persian orange was only used on AC farm equipment, as the AC lawn tractors were yellow at the time. Your Simplicity paint is entirely different. Duplicolor DE1607 Chevy orange is as close as you will come.

Well, just how much of a purist are you? Since I am more tightwad than purist, I experimented with mixing up some Simplicity Orange from Allis Chalmers Orange and International Harvester Red. Very good results, IMHO! The magic formula is 1:4 (I-H to AC). Both of these colors can be found in many stores at reasonable prices.

this is powder orange paint. I got the paint from the dealer for like $40.00 a quart. The quart was just enough to do the tractor and mower deck. I went alittle thin on the frame so, I could do triple coats on the fenders and deck.

since when was MF's orange? Actually I had my 69 3112 scanned and the color came up as 3153h flame orange which is a 1979 Dodge color. It was a perfect match for the Simplicity original paint.

I brought the belt cover from my 64' Broadmoor to work, the inside is flawless, even better after a light sand and buff.
Glasurite chip #8045n is the match.

I have both Masseys and Simplicitys, the MF has much more red in it.

Deep orange has been a pretty good power king touch up color for me, though i suspect the powder orange may have been better. (i bought six cans so i'm proverbially screwed.)
The cans have a crappy spray patern, imo. jd cans have a job to do. simplicity cans seem to want to paint the world, so to speak.
automotive paint scares me. you can't screw up factory impliment paint, imo. it just seems less finicky and ultimately way more durable. i could be wrong.
