Default looking for ag tires 20x8.0-8

i'm looking for a set of ag tires for my riding lawn mower. i need size 20x8.0-8. i think its called a chevron tread. i've checked some different web sites and carlisle makes what i'm looking for but the cheapest i can find is around $75 each. i don't need them that bad. i would feel more comfortable spending 45 or 50. if they really are 65 or 75 then i don't really need them.

Northern Tool sells some for ATV's that fit 8" rims for about 40-50 bucks..

20x8.0-8 means 20 inches tall by 8.0 inches wide by 8 inch wheel, right? so a 20x7.0-8 would be 20 inches tall, 7 inches wide by 8 inch wheel, right?

Tractor-Holic is right, try northern tool. I've found big price gaps in certain sizes depending on demand for a particular size. Replacing tires have always been a thorn in my side with regards to cost. Hunt around on-line and you're bound to find something. Good luck.

You're so right. I got a new set of 20x10 tire/4 lug wheel from ebay for around $95 w/shipping. When I upgraded tractors I was looking for 23x12's to fit my new one. Cheapest I've found for just a tire is about $65.

I've found good prices on duro tires...

www.durotrailertires.com

Can't verify how good the Duro's are, but the prices were good. Couldn't find any in the 23x10.50x12 in stock, but may be in your size.

Gander Mountain is getting out of the powersports business and had some good deals on tires.

The Surplus Center has a few AG tires with rims on sale too, last time I browsed their website, not sure but I think they were 12" though, for only 45 bucks or so,and had only a few left!--but they do have many tires in other sizes too..look on www.surpluscenter.com

I prefer skinnier tires, they do better in mud and snow--wide ones float too easy and actually reduce traction in deep snow in my experience..

On my plow truck I had some bony 8.75 x 16.5" tires and I plowed circles around my friends Ford F-250 with big wide "monster mudders" ,he'd slide sideways and spin out,and I'd put right on by like I was on dry tar..I had to pull his truck out a few times ,it would climb up on top of the snow ,then sink in and get high centered..
I find on tractors once a skinny AG tire digs in deep enough to bury the sidewall, is when it really starts gripping,a wide tire wont let it dig in,it'll tend to just spin on top of the mud or snow....

I have two brand new 22x11x10" ATV tires that belong on a Kawasaki Mule--,Dunlop KT869's,that MIGHT work well on my Suburbans, but the more I look at them, the more I think they will not, they'll be too wide and I'd be better off sticking with chains on the stock turf tires that are 22x7.50x12's..I dont think its worth the hassle of buying wheel adapters to make them bolt on,or 10" trailer rims with 5 lugs that wont have a big enough center hole or be really wide enough..I may just sell them..

Oh I agree for plowing, the skinner tires are better. Had some studded 235/85R16's on my 95 F-250 Powerstroke swinging a 8.5 ft Meyer plow. Got some great traction...

I know I should look at the skinner tire, but we don't get that much snow out here, and I think I'll spend more time in the mushy ground than the driveway plowing....

Try Rural King. I too had been looking but wasn't willing to pay 75+ for import tires.
Found Carlisle Super Lug tires at RK for $48 each. Rural King
