Default What year is this old Simplicity?

Hey guys. Needed a small snowblower for my mother-in-law, so I looked around on EBay. I've been into older power equipment for a while now and my collection is growing, so when I saw this, I grabbed it.

On the way home, I started thinking twice about giving it to the MIL; I think I'd like to keep it for myself just to have. Anyway, any idea what year this might be from? The engine code on the Briggs engine is all worn and I can't tell. I'm guesing 60's or 70's. Any clue? I'd post this in the Simplicity forum, but it's not a mower and I don't want to go too OT on the guys over there. TIA!

Hard to read from the picture, but I believe the serial is 001299.

Ah, got it. A little WD 40 and a wire brush worked wonders. Engine code is from '67. Think I'm going to keep this one....

That looks to be a collectors item. Clean it up and let it never touch snow ever again!

Exactly what I was thinking! It's in surprisingly good condition too. PO garage kept it and dried it off after use.
