Default 601 sheet metal

New here, but searched the forum and didn't see any answers to this question.

I have a 1959 model 641 ford tractor. It runs really well, but looks kind of rough. I have been searching for some replacement sheet metal to replace the grill and the side panels that are on either side of the grill. All I can find is parts for the naa, jubilee, and 600/800 series up to 1957. From all I can tell, these parts look very similar and I think the tractors are almost the same mechanically. Does anyone here know if the parts will interchange from these earlier year models to the later 01 series tractors?

Thanks in advance.

Chris

It will, the only real difference is the added red grille face of the x01 series.

Thanks. I thought they were close to the same. That will help me out on the bodywork. I think my wife's papaw, who bought this tractor back in the 60's, would run over whatever tree was in the way. Enough so that the bumper broke off a few years back. Got some parts to order now. Thanks!

Let's see if I can get a pic to work...

Looks a little rough, but is solid underneath. Replaced all the gauges last week and was surprised to see the oil pressure above 40 Psi at idle. Not bad considering the last rebuild was before I was born in about 1976 or so.

Should be able to work just about any 00/01 (non rowcrop or offset ) /naa metal. might need a lil custom fitting for gas tank heights.. but no biggie.

Cpdenton,

What I see of that sheet metal looks pretty good. Just needs a little body work. The sheet metal my dad bought for the 961 we refurbished looked a lot worse than that when we started.

Yeah, most of the sheet metal is good, we are just missing the grill completely, and the vertical side panel on the other side of the tractor is pretty rough. I was just wanting to make sure I could get a grill to fit. Can't wait for winter time when we can tear it down and start a cosmetic makeover.

Thanks for all the help you guys have given.

Cpdenton,

The grille for your 641 looks like this one:

(This one appears to have a red screen over it.)
