The "Pitchman" Billy Mays is dead. He died in his Florida home. According to one report, he had been on a flight when a tire blew on landing & Billy's head hit the roof/luggage area due to not having seatbelt on. He said he was fine and went on home. I'm willing to bet he had a brain hemorhage or something like that. I enjoyed his new show "Pitchmen", but now he's gone. 4 Hollywood people gone in just a few days!

I've said many times that his ads got on my nerves, and man did they, BUT, he was a good guy & I hate to hear this. He was a family guy to boot.
I don't care what you are in guys....wear the seatbelt when there is one!

Now if only the Sham Wow guy would just get laryngitis, I wouldn't have to keep grabbing for the remote.
Sorry, I have no tolerance for mimes and loud pitchmen.

I can't find the remote fast enough when I see those ads. However I did like the show they did about choosing what product to push.
May he rest in peace. I guess they need to do a spot on why we have Doctors and why it is important to see them. |

Hey, I never wished death on the Sham Wow guy.
I watched the Billy Mays show too and did have respect for him. I can respect someone and still not tolerate them.

Ed McMann,Farrar Fawcet, Micheal Jackson and then Billy Mays! Wow! I don't know how many more people could die this week.Ed McMann was a good guy. Poor ole' Farra fought everday for alot of years. Micheal Jackson didn't like the man at all but would never wish that he died. Billy Mays. Of all people Billy Mays. Pitchmen will never be the same! Wow! what a shock!

He was on a plane that blew a tire on landing. He hit his head on the stowbin. Went home instead of the doctor. I bet it was an anyerisim (sp) or hemmorage.

R I P Billy , Ok hes was a little loud , well maybe a lot loud LOl , we were at the Steven Gusman Center doing a home market show in Miami and he was next to my booth. I had To listen to him for 4 days. We went and had a few drinks after it was over and he's real funny in person , just a nice guy doing what he did best. Thanks for the post , I don't watch TV or have one.

I was shocked when I saw the news too,on that little "scroll" that constanly plays at the bottom of the screen!..then they had a update at the top of the hour at 1 pm that told how he had been found "unresponsive" in his bed at home by his wife..and how he had been on that flight that had a tire blow out during the landing at Tampa Airport..according to local TV news <Billy said all the stuff in the overhead compartments fell out and some of the stuff hit him in the head--"but luckily I have a hard head"!..
Not hard enough I guess..wonder if those were his last words?.. Though I did find his volume annying at times, geeesh,I'd never wish the guy dead!..had a family, wife, and everything going for him--was just on the tonite show last week, promoting his new show..he was 50 too, just like Micheal Jackson--and ME! ..Yes,it DOES seem like everyone is dying!..makes me wonder when my number is coming up.. ![]() RIP Billy ... |
