Default New to Me Case 380 Construction King

After some excellent advice from the members here on the forum I sold my Yanmar 1500D (great machine but a bit small for my application) and picked up this Case 380 to take care of my land. I want to thank those that chimed in on my previous threads. I am a tractor novice so it really helps to get the input from experienced owners.

I found this Case 380 on Craigslist near me. It was owned for nearly its whole life by one individual on a ranch where it was used for weeds and road maintenance. It came with operators manual, service manual, etc. It runs great and makes short work of most of the jobs I have for it here. Here are a few pics below.

One questions I had was what kind of hydraulic fluid it takes. The manual says CASE TCH fluid. However, there is not a CASE dealer near me so I was wondering what Case TCH fluid equates to so I can purchase it locally.

I am not sure how old it is. Based on the manual it is an early 80s or late 70s model. I have used it quite a bit and been pleased with it. It is a monster compared to my old Yanmar. Still working on finding the fluid information though. I just found a tractor repair shop near me w/ a mechanic that specializes in Case/David Brown tractors so I am going to pay him a visit.

If you have a gasoline distributor nearby you can have them look up the equivalent oil in their brand. I use the Chevron distributor who is near me.

Hi my name is Louis. I live in Grand Terrace (Riverside) I am looking for Case loader and would like to ask you a few questions about yours. The older Construction Kings are appealing to me, however, I don't know much about them. Your 380 is very nice tractor, my number is 909-322-3466 or email at lsji@sbcglobal.net

Thank you for your time,

Louis
