Looking for an MTD grill that's on many different MTD made/models out there (Ranch King, Yard Machine, Lawn General, etc.) Below are a couple generic pic's I grabbed off the web that shows the type... it's the type that stays fixed while the hood tilts forward...
The actual rider I'm working with is a Lawn General 17/46 (bah Tecuseh! - lol). MTD sticker under seat is way worn and faded, so I don't know the model number. I've seen this type of grill on many many tractors, but can't seem to find one in good shape and at a decent price (aka cheap!). The one I need to replace is in 20+ pieces - lol! I'm not picky, only need the grill (not lights, lens cover or hardware), and will take any color and almost any condition - so long as it's not in pieces ![]() If anyone has info on where to get one, please let me know... Thanks! ![]() ![]()

Thanks for the info, Sergeant... but still not having luck with the site.
In the hopes someone knows another online, local or other resource, I got some more info... The grill was included on MTD Series 660 & 670 models... across all brands they badged (Ranch King, Huskee, etc.). The part number I've found is 731-1097E, but no searching turns up anything more than operator/part manuals... not place that actually has one ![]() So - if anyone else can help, please chime in! Thanks! |

I saw the headline of this thread and thought I had one for you, but mine is too old, not even close to what you need.

I think I'll be parting my MTD out, I have to wait till this weekend to see if a tractor I am getting is going to work if so I will take a look and see if my grill is in good enough shape for you. If I remember correctly I think it is broke where it bolts to the frame. If that's the case I have some Norton 2 part epoxy that I will use to repair it for you if you are interested.
