I am going to pick a 2nd lawn sweeper tomorrow. I would like to pull 2 at once. Both are 38" sweepers.
Has any one else on here done that? Any suggestion on tow bars? thanks Chuck

I have thought of that also. The one is just not wide enough!!!

The only down side is 1 sweeper is hard enough to back up, 2 will be impossible.
Guess that's a good reason to make a rubber edge for my blade so I can push the piles into 1 big pile to load into the compost.

Dumping would be a HUGE problem. Also you would want to stagger them, so they overlap. That would also make dumpping harder

I could either stagger them or space them to leave a 30" strip between them, and then I would still be able to cover twice the area, the next pas would pick up the area between the sweepers, and 1 section over.

If you also tied them together near the inside wheels, they would be easier to back up.

I tied a couple of push mowers to my tractor last year and it did work well in a straight path- turning was the issue. Sharp turn would leave an uncut strip. The only way around that was link them closer together, which of course, defeats the idea.

Considering the trouble you're going through to create a custom hitch, might it be just as easy to part out the two sweepers and build a single "stretch" sweeper that's twice the width?

Toolin: the hitch for the sweeper I was thinking of building was going to be pipe and/or angle iron scrap I have on hand. But the idea of 1 super sweeper sounds interesting as well. I will looking that also.

Here's another thought....
Get a second tractor and a helper, if possible. When my Granma's place (about 2 acres with oak trees) needs the leaves picked up I use my tractor and sweeper and my wife uses my Grandma's tractor and sweeper.

I like the idea of the 34 inch strip.
If you fastened both sweepers solid to the "T" bar hitch so they don't turn independently, wouldn't they then back up like a regular trailer? You would need to make the tow bar longer so the "T" bar would clear the tires on turns.

Perkins use to make a 3 across sweeper pull behined for IH Cub Cadet in the 1960's& 70's It just like the design above except you had a sweeper behined the two and it was in the middle
