I just stumbled across this, so first off

Second, a Bolens 1886, while a great garden tractor, isn't actually in the CUT (compact utility tractor) range. I have several "Large Frame" Bolens like your 1886, and they are more like sub-CUT. You could put this thread in the Bolens forum.

To answer your actual question, Ray, the power steering set-ups don't show up very often. I have seen them go for as much as $400 and up when complete in good condition. They are a pain to install though becuase you really don't have a lot of room to work when trying to plumb them into the hydraulics system behind the dash. And you can interpret that comment as meaning it is easier to install after pulling the engine, which is no small feat in itself!

Don't feel bad... I kept posting in the CUT section when I was trying to figure out stuff for my Cub Cadet 2072... I thought it was a CUT tractor...I was wrong and was gladly pushed to the smaller guys section lol. Luckily the Bolens forum has been really nice, and very informative. I think I have learned more with my HT23 here, than i did with either of my Cubs elsewhere (refering to sites outside of MTF ofcourse).

Good luck with the powersteering. Someone was creating a kit on here... but I haven't heard anything else lately. I think it's the same guy in Ohio that was making the midmount blade. Has anyone heard any updates from that guy? I know he had some great stuff in the works... and I would love to spend some of my income tax towards my HT23.
