Default John Deere 316-What's it worth?

Looking for an answer from the experts. How much is a 316 with 215 original hours worth? It's in very good condition.

Very unusual for a 316 to have an hour meter, but they were optional equipment. I'm assuming it is the newer 316 with the Onan twin in it, and not the older 1978 316 with the Kohler. If it really has that low a reading on hours, and the machine's condition matches the low hours (minimal rust, no dents, lights all work, no cracks in the hood, etc) and it comes with a mower deck, but no other attachments, no sleeve hitch, no 3 point hitch, no rear PTO, I'd say at least $1500 to maybe $2000. Subtract at least $300 if no mower deck.

Yes, it is the 18hp Onan twin. It has a mower deck, but no other attachments. The owner says it was his father-in-laws and it sat in a barn for many years and it is the original hours. It has a tear in the seat though.

2K at the very least, then wrap it in plastic and tuck it in a deep dark corner soemwhere...what you have found is a true rarity.

I didn't get it yet, but with all this pressure you're putting on me, I might just have to. I think it's still available.

I am not try to highjack the thread but as long as we are on JD's how about this one. I have a 1988, 332 with a 3 cyl Yanmar diesel. It has under 500 hours and is a hydro, sporting a 50 inch mower deck. Everything works and is intact.

If it's been stored indoors and looks like a low hour machine (you occasionally washed and waxed it), figure beween $2500 to $3000.

Hi guys I'm am currently purchasing a home, and in the garage is a John Deere 316 with 140hrs on it and its a 1989. It is beautiful, not a scratch on it. It has a 50" deck and a 30" tiller and the guy wants $3000 for it and he's holding pretty firm at that. It has the onan engine. I currently own a husky 18 horse but I think a John deere or this one may be the last lawn tractor I ever buy. So my question is.... Is $3000 too much for this tractor??? I look online and the prices are every where so any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The tiller is $1000 alone. What can you buy on the new or slightly used market for $2000 ? Not much !
Did he have the hour meter installed when new ? Is he the original owner ? Any documentation ?
Not a bad deal if it's legit.
