Default 51' Farmall H - How to Replace Generator belt?

Hello,

I have a 51' H. The generator belt broke. It goes on the innermost pulley on the "pulley assembly" in front of the water pump housing. My question; how do I get the new belt on?

So far, I have removed the radiator and fan blade. I'm not sure what to remove next or how to do it. It looks as if the pulley assembly can come off of the shaft some how, but I'm not sure how to do it.

Also, I want to replace the fan/crankshaft belt. Once I understand how to remove the pulley assembly the crankshaft belt can come off. However the manual crank start shaft is rusted to the frame. There is just enough clearance for the crankshaft pulley to turn, but not enought clearance to get the belt off (or the new one on).

If anyone has any insight on how to to this, let me know. Thanks!

Kevin

The best way is to buy some link-belt... Then you wont need to take things apart... Look for the ones with rivets not the twist type...
I did a fast search and found this...

Too late for that; already took apart. Those look like they're made in China!

I got the new generator belt on (local Case IH dealer had one-USA made) then partially got the new crankshaft belt started, kicked her over about 1/2 RPM, and it jumped right on.

I found a replacement set of hoses from a site in MA (www.tractorpart.com). They needed replaced anyway. I'm glad I took it part. Learned a few things.

Thanks

Ok ypu took more off than need be. You have to take the fan belt off, to do this you need to loosed the belt by loosing the set screw and gentley taping the housing of the fan housing. You turn it one way to tighten, another to loosen it. To get a break down of how tthis works go to casih.com for a parts breakdown. It's not as hard as it seems.
