Default JD 1025r arrived

Monday, Larry from Warren County JD Center, NJ delivered the 1025r. If Larry sees this, I want to thank him for taking the time to go over and showing all of what I need to know. Larry has been here 3 times in the past and has always been a gentleman. Today, I spent about an hour on it to try to get to know the machine. The learning curve will be longer then I thought it would be. I have never owned or run a tractor like this. If anyone wants to offer tips on digging and clearing land, I would be all ears. I can see that I need to get a tooth bar. I took some pictures. Chas

Thanks Mike...I did not get a deck. I wanted to keep the numbers down and I have a Cub for mowing. This thing almost cost me as much as my new 2000 Jeep.

Wow, looks great! That ROPS sure is up there a ways. Guess it's set for having a backhoe on it.

I had to drop the rops down to get it in the garage. I may or may not get the backhoe in the future. Now I have to get a pre-built garage for the new tractor. Can't fit the car and tractor in existing garage. I saw a real good deal a couple months ago that I hope is still there.

I put three full size cinder blocks in the back. Is that enough weight?

My buddy uses bags of play sand wrapped in plastic trash bags for weight in his JD box. That way the box stays nice he says.

I added 3 more cinder blocks and it seems to have made a good bit of difference. After watching about 2 hours of videos on youtube, I started to get an idea on how to use the tractor. Then, spent 3 hours working the tractor. What a world of difference. Iím starting to get the hang of it and guessing I will only get better. Yesterday was 1000% better! Iím starting to see what this tractor can do. Canít wait till the tooth bar arrives.

Glad to see you got the tooth bar worked out. Did your dealer come through, or did you go elsewhere?

After I got that email from the salesman, I started to look online. I have since learned that JD doesnít make a tooth bar for the H120 bucket. I donít understand why he just didnít just say that. Yesterday I ordered a Piranha Tooth bar online that Urban Tractor recommended. It should get here the middle of next week.

Sweet. Two bolts and it slips right off so you can back blade. You won't believe how that bucket will dig. It's like having a different attachment on the front.

Congrats and have fun with it. When transporting material in your bucket make sure you keep it low and steady and have the rear end properly ballasted. slkpk
