Default Mower deck to low - can it be raise higher

I have a used 281016be rer snapper riding mower with elec start, 10HP B&S engine.

The deck in on the the highest setting #6.

Has anyone tried to raise it so that it does not cut so short? Are there taller tires that can be put on to raise it?

I have a series 13, 33" deck so we're likely different. I mow on the setting 5 or 6 and it does cut short. When I go to level 4 the deck wheels are always touching the ground.

If I'm not mistaken your deck's rear adjustment is with the chains (mine are cables with spacers) supporting the rear of your deck. At least that's how it appears in the parts manual. My mower has two pivot point settings on the front. I didn't see those 2 options in your parts manual but I can't say for sure. My mower is set on the higher of the two settings.

There are a number of threads on this subject and I don't recall ever reading a suitable answer. When my deck is adjusted to it's highest level, the edge of my deck is about 2" off the ground. The blade is about a half inch higher.

I believe other Snappers RERs differ. One might think the deck should raise higher but mine sure doesn't.

I forgot to address this issue.

Raising your deck will involve raising the front half of your deck. Putting larger tires on the front of your mower could cause those tires to rub when turning corners.

Another idea I was considering was taking an angle grinder and grinding out a notch where a notch number 7 would be. Then I'd have to find a number 7 decal. :-)
