Help salvage/junk yards in ny for old farm tractors?

I recently bought a 1941 farmall h with intent of restoring, i have hopes of making it a one of a kind with duals, widefront end and eventually a 3pt hitch, the one i bought i picked up for 750, it has some rough tin and a rough trans, im looking for another one with a blown or seized motor to switch the old one with mine and keep the other for misc parts but im havin trouble finding just that, i was wonderin if anyone knew where one might be wether its in a field or out in the woods i don't care this is my first restoration and have alot of people sayin it won't happen cause of my age and the size of the project, if you know where an old farm junk yard or salvage yard in ny maybe, that can work aswell

Only one place I know of and the guy is kind of hard to deal with, but he may have what you need or know where it is.. He has mostly small stuff but he does have some larger tractors last I knew.

I use Wenger's in Lancaster, PA. They'll ship whatever you need to your shop.

Not sure where in NY you are located, but you might be able to find something at MacFaddens....

If not, keep looking on the local craigslist. Or go see some local scrap dealers, and see if they have a skeleton of a machine in the back that you can raid.

Im located about a half hour from them actually, the main problem im focusing on is finding something in my price range, im lucky to almost make $100 so my price range and budget are pretty crude but i have about 750 to spend on another parts tractor rather then spend over $1000 for the same parts tractor i want to try and stay within budget as much as possible, i did have plans on goin to macfaddens but their prices are just to much, i did actually find a really good parts h in PA for about 750, and has the entire tractor, tires, striaght tin and all with just has a seized motor, at macfaddens alone a good set of tires in the same condition as the ones with the tractor im looking at are already running at 300-400 a piece soo, its a better deal to go through craisglist, now all i need is it to be a hauled up or find another one thats closer lol, thanks for the help though, right now im fighting this project among many other things so the help is realy appreciated

Yeah, I know they arent cheap. But they certainly do have a lot of stuff! Keep your eyes peeled for a parts machine. For that price you might find one in her working clothes. or just go for a ride to spot some in a barn somewhere. You can knock on a door and ask if its for sale. Sometimes a pile of cash will work wonders, even if its not a big pile

I know it's a drive for ya, but Marroquin's in Spring Mills, PA (Central PA) has a Farmall H, narrow front, wheel weights, good rubber, nice paint for $1,250. I bought my International 130 from him, might be better getting a good running one, rather than changing everything around. specialy if ya can get a decent machine for the same price as a parts one. he also has parts tractors. (814) 349-5017. he doesn't have a web page but puts his adds in the pa auto connection magazine or "The bargain Sheet" (last weeks was in "the bargain sheet"). good luck and enjoy the project, it'll be nice when done.

I also have used the "The Bargain Sheet" if it is the same one that is online, in Dillersburg, Pa. You might be able to place an ad for transport in it also after you find something.

Duals would be "cool", but would slaughter your budget due to the extra cost.

Good single tires can handle all the power an H engine can put out.

The one I know of is:
Mack Enterprises
Windmill Rd.
Randolph N.Y.

He has several IH tractors in a good size bone yard.

I know you have an H right now, but I just came across this Ad on Craigslist.

http://albany.craigslist.org/grd/3559698332.html

You could pick up two Cs (not runners) and start with those as your project machine. They were flooded last year, so probably need all new fluids and a good engine/tranny flush, along with some starter/magneto rebuilds, but you could get two for one here. You could sell your current H (or keep it!) to get some funding.

I know its not where you started, but I figured I would post it for you.

i realy appreciate the help guys, i actaully am taking the "picker" appraoch and just asking when ever i spot one on the side of the road, right now i do have a deadline unfortunately but have found a few h's that have everything but dont run, yes the tires aren't cheap but thats another reason why im looking for basically a roling chasis, i figured if i can pick up an old h for 650 with tin, tires, and extra parts i can save a good chunk of money, at mcfaddens i was looking at 1400 in all for what i wanted but to pay 650 is way better especially on an h with just a bad motor, im hoping to atleast have the duals, 3pt, wide front end, and maybe a cab on before may, she wont look pretty until later on about july or june but i can do some serious field work with it
