Default Troy bilt gtx 20

I have bought a 2000 gtx 20 with what is I believe a single speed tranny. Pick it up this sat. I have a spare two speed from the 94 year. Will it bolt right in?
Let me know if anyone has any ideas!
Thanks

The newer 20 should still have a high and low range. I've never seen anything saying that spec changed during the production run. If it really only has the high range, maybe the transaxle was swapped from a GTX-18???

Either way, I would think the older rear should be a bolt-in.

Yeah that's what I thought. I just found the parts list too. Only the 16&18 came with single speed.
I appreciate the help.

Make sure that the handle is just not missing. Just a thought.

Definitely the single speed green tranny. 20 was black. Very similar.

All swapped back to a two speed. Pretty easy. I will post some pics later.

Just noticed the part where you said the transaxle was green. The single speed on my GTX-18 is black so that one was probably swapped in from a Bolens Duratrac 18.
