Default Snapper YT16 drive problems

I am having a little difficulty wit my snapper yt 16, most of the time it has no problem going into gear and moving but sometimes when i have it in first gear the tractor will not move with out a little nudge. It is not a major problem right now but i would like to get it fixed before it becomes a major problem. there is also a grinding noise coming from the rear of the tractor and i believe it may be a thrust washer but i am not sure. Any advice of tips for what the problem might be would be greatly appreciated.

On a Snapper, the first suspect is the "rubber" driven wheel. The LT/GT/YT service manual goes into great detail about evaluating ,and adjusting this and components. As to the Grinding noise, does it happen all the time,or only in neutral,or only in gear with the tractor moving?A little info sure helps with the long distance trouble shooting.

I checked the rubber disk and it met all of the specifications listed in the manual. As for the grinding noise, it happens when going into reverse and when starting out in first and second gear. thank you for your time and patience, i would much rather figure it out from some one here instead of having to take it some where.
