Default Gator Blades vs OEM Blades

Because I can't see any difference, I got a theory about using my new Gator blades on my 54c deck
over the standard OEM John Deere blades.

Maybe because I cut my grass between 3" and 3 1/4" and it's hard to
see how fine the clippings are.

I cut every week (except when it's dry) just to even out the top so the grass never "clump's", but then again,
because I cut that offen @ that height, it never clump's using the standard blades.

I don't have a mulching kit installed.

So useless I change my cutting habits, I don't see a big deal in Gator blades.

Your opinion please.

Well up here in Cow Hampshire during the wet season the grass grow high and wet.
The Gators of course clump (albeit less) like the stock blades.
It's after it all dries out most of the time it all just disappears in one pass, where the stock ones wind row for a couple of passes.
I'm sticking with the Gators up here.
And Mike the finer you chop the grass the sooner it turns back to fertilizer.

I cut at 3.5 to 3.75 Through out the mowing season Only In one spot do I see Clipping In a Low spot Near are Creek But If You Bag You will Notice a difference In the Fact You can Mow Longer Before the Bags are Full and I Only Bag in the Fall I will never go Back to OEM Blades If I Can help it Because some Of My Tractors they don't Make Gators for and when I Mow with them I get the standard Grass clip rows where I don't with Gators

I have cut twice since I installed the gators. There is a big difference. Even my wife who notices very little remarked that she did not see rows of grass clippings.

I also bag only in the fall so if that's the case, I'll also notice the difference then.

I installed a set of G6 Gators on my 345 with a 54C deck and I'm just not feeling the love for them that others see. I may go back to my standard blades. I am seeing an uneven cut and no real lift to speak of. Between my weight and the weight of the machine I need blades that lift up the grass the front wheels push down.

I'm with Harry, I put a set of g6's on my 54C and the lift is not that great. Actually I took the whole deck off and went back to my 48C. I run gator blades on all my decks but this year for some reason my results are varying from mower to mower and I cannot figure out why.

My initial impression is favorable, and better yet it seems the additional hardness makes a world of difference. The tips don't round away like the OEM blades do.

Do a Search on Gator Blades. This question has been asked many times.. The responses are almost always mixed - some love'em, some hate'em.

Gators work great, for me. I always mow dry. If you live where that's not possible, I'm not so sure they are the answer. I always mow starting with the outside edges of the lawn, working in. The discharge chute is always pointed in, toward the uncut grass. This throws what didn't get mulched into the area that I am about to cut. Sometimes the last pass leaves one row of leftover grass. One pass back across it, and Voila!, no clippings.

Interesting...I too start at the outside edges chute pointed in, but I make a circluar pattern to the yard closest to the house/deck so the chute is pointed into the yard. (I sometimes get too busy, so I need to mow every 3 weeks, wet or not, can't be picky.) So when I get to the middle of the yard I make a few passes with the chute pointed out toward the trees/ to get the reamining clippings.

I used a new set of Gators last season with my 210. I went back to my stock blades this year. No difference whatsoever. I`ll keep them as spares. I know the older decks(my 210 has a model 47) simply do not have the same cut quality as the newer ones and figured maybe I was expecting too much.
