Default case 644?

There a gentleman that has a case 644( thats what he says it is)for sale. He said it's all original including the 18hp motor. I thought the 648 had the 18 hp engine but maybe I'm wrong. Everything sounds good and looks like a new paint job. Comes with a blade, plow, 3pt digger. He wants $2000 for it. It's size would be great for some the odd work like cleaning out the sheep pen and it would look good with my 444. Going to check it out this weekend. Just wondering group consensus. A ridiculous price or good deal.

What does the badge plate say? Pictures are good!!

If its truly a 644 the badge will indicate that it is along with the year (sometimes) and serial number.

Other may corrected if I'm wrong but the 644 had a single cylinder 14hp in it. The 646 had a Onan CCK 16.5 hp and the 648 had a B48M Onan 18hp.

A for the price, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If the tractor runs well and has been maintained well then 2000 wouldn't be out of the range. I have seen them go higher and lower.

These are great tractors!

Wow, that sound almost exactly like the tractor I bought a week ago. The same implements, same asking price except mine is a 644 with 16 hp engine. This isn't in Sparta is it?

I'd give that for a good solid 644. If it is an original 644 it will have a single cylinder Kohler K321.

Not in Sparta, saw that one though. Guess I'll have more information this weekend.

648 would be OEM with the 18hp Onan. All 648's have power steering.
