Default Old gas

I have to get my spare mustang going, its been sitting aprox 2.5 years with maybe 3 gallons of gas in it. what tricks do you guys use to possibly "freshen" the gas up so it will burn through?

If needbe I will drop the tank but I hat that thought!

I'm sure not an expert on fuel, but I'd just add 5 gallons of fresh gas to it, if anything.

I have an Expedition that hasn't been street legal in 4 years, it was filled when I stopped using it, it's down to a 1/2 of tank from starting it monthly to keep the battery charged and things lubed in the engine.

It still starts and runs fine with 4 y/o gas.

I find the carb is the problem.. If i can clean the carb up real good 99 percent of the time adding fuel to the tank will let the ole girls fire right up..very rarely do i need to drop a tank to clean em out.

Just finished using up the 13 (or is 14) year old gas in the Ford LTD. Drained that tank out good. Gotta put some back in before that price goes over $4.00 a gallon.
I run any 'old' gas that I find thru the push/rotary lawn mower. Thing could even run on kero, if it gets that bad.
Add equal amount of good new gas and throw in some seafoam. Might not have 100% of rated hp., but close to it.
By Mustang, you mean the car or the lawn machine?
