Angry Any tips or tricks for keeping mice out?

Anyone have any tips or tricks for keeping the mice out of the garage and more importantly out of the tractors? Already have cats but they only want to snooze when it's cold out. It's a hassle to have to remove the nests every spring from under the tin work!

I got mice poison chunks (forget what kind) and put 2 on top of the mower deck. I haven't used the mower in about a month (winterized now) but when I was using it they seemed to work.... for now.
Agh, just the thought of what I may find next spring makes me sick though

Those mice can get into everything

They got into the headliner of my plow truck this year by chewing a hole right through from on top of the visor. Two cans of air freshener and I still can't get all of the smell out.I was thinking about spraying a little bleach on the tractor engine but don't want to peel the paint either.I've heard mothballs work and don't work depending who you listen to but I guess it's worth a try. At least I won't have any moths! Another thing I was considering is getting some BIG garbage bags and driving the tractor right in and closing it. We used to have some really big hazardous waste bags at work that might be big enough.I hate meeses to pieces!!!

I can't keep the mice but I have learned not to leave items around that they want/need. Like any type of food. Bird seed was the worst. I found they started storing it in one of my starters,,and in a flywheel.

I started my tractor one day and it went ka-chunk ka-chunk ka chunk throwing bird seed everywhere. Had to tear it apart.

Now they are bringing dog food in from the kennel outside and storing it various places inside garage.

I cleaned the garage since, removed all small boxes and unneeded clutter. Seemed to have helped allot.

It is a good question with no easy fix. Usually there is a huge thread started around winter time when the mice really go for shelter. There are some threads discussing traps, glue boards, cats, moth balls, dryer sheets, repellents, poisons and warfarin.

I gave up trying to keep them out of the car garage. I just thin the herd with a combination of bait blocks, snap traps, and glue traps. I put all of these out of reach of my dogs, way under the shelving or behind boards.

For the outside or shed GTs, the mice usually like to nest in the cowling of the single cylinder engines. I turn over the engine every few days to blow out any inhabitants. Yes, it can be icky. I inspect the motor fins for nesting material and remove any so the engine does not overheat.

Often I think I should re-mount the engine shroud on hinges or Velcro because I have it off so frequently.

I did not buy these so I do no know what size. My sister had a bunch and I don't know where she got them. The biggest bags I have ever seen though. A tractor will fit inside,,no problem.

I have never looked to see if they are available for buying somewhere.

Mice??Hope I'm never asking your question--But,I do have the damnest time with dirt dobbers(wasp) they'll find any hole and fill it up with grub for the unborn. So your left with all the cavitys filled to the brim.Easy to find'em,just look for the white holes. You have to dig'em out with a screwdriver or etc.

I think the bags we had at work were for lining dumpsters.I no longer work there though. Actually the place is no longer there.

The dryer sheets seem to help in my motorhome but it seems to be only the name brand ones (Bounce) that work the best. No name or discount ones have not worked as well.
