Default John Deere GT 245 Snow Thrower install PICS

Hello fellow enthusiasts,

I recently bought a 42" thrower for my GT245 that I got about 2 months ago so I'm fairly new. And before you say RTFM, I don't have one the person who sold me is sending it soon.
Meanwhile back at the garage. I did find a "manual" for the thrower online but I'm still running into some problems. The pictures will help in my descriptions.

~~
Problem number 1.

The riser bar that comes from the left side of the front thrower bolts onto the frame closely how it looks in the picture but I'm either missing the bracket the online manual shows or am I supposed to drill? The bar to the left of the black bar looks like that's what it might hook to but there is no way it would reach.

Side question, what is that small green bar for.

~~
Problem number 2 isn't so much a problem as a question.

The bar coming from the bottom left and moving toward the camera is just kind of hanging out there and I have no idea where I am to put it. (Not the chute spinning bar but the one that is not connected to anything).

~~
Problem number 3.

The bracket holding the chute spinning rod doesn't seem to be close enough to bolt onto anything, high or low. The final two pictures os just showing where it should go.

The guy that sold this dealt with all John Deere garden equipment and said it came from a 345 and it should fit no problem, but I might need to order something. He would reimburse me for any extra parts so I wont be out too much. Thank you guys very much for taking the time to help a stranger.

One question, does your GT have a foot pedal lift? Does not look like it does.
The set up you have is for a foot pedal lift. The bar you are showing in the picture is called a sway-bar, mounts from the blower to front of tractor. You will also need a support rod for your lift and chute. I bought a used 42'' blower that was set up for non lift pedal, and my GX had a foot pedal. Have all the right rods and brackets for your set up. Let me know.

I hope these photos will help with your problems. Problem #3 bolts onto the bracket you already have on the deck lift handle. That handle also lifts the snowblower. I don't use the spout crank bracket anymore because I've converted mine to electric.

See if this helps. If you have a lift arm, and not a lift pedal - you will need part AM124701 Lever. This is part of the BM18977 Lift Arm package.

First hand yes you have the same issue I have I bought a used blower for my 245 and I'm the opposite, I have the lever lift brackets and my tractor is pedal lift. I have been looking and they rant cheap so I will keep looking or try to make on my own.

Hey, maybe you can answer a question for me. How far back from the blower are the holes for your lift clevis? For my BM18977 lift kit, the ones on my snow blower are too far back.

the holes you use for the yokes are the ones closest to the 2 vertical pulleys at the front of the blower.........you have the yokes where they would be if yo had a hydraulic lift.

There are no holes there. I could just line it up and drill them but a measurement would allow me to double check where I'm at. It came off a 285 I think so I'm not sure about hydro lift.
That front lift kit is an expensive bugger!

I have a G100 (same frame as GT275). I have the M03251. John Deere matched me up with the BM18977 front lift kit. Everything I've seen said they should match up but I figure I'm going to need a little fabrication I guess. I'm still not quite sure how those back pins hook up yet either.

Okay, can't help you with where those holes should be, I have a 3252 Blower which has a bent blower frame..........Back pins hook up to the studs that are under each side just below the foot rests.

Once you get that hooked up that should give you a good idea where those holes should be for the yokes but wait until someone else comes along that has that frame and maybe they can measure back from the end closest to the blower down that black frame and give you the exact place to put those holes.

I bought a thrower off a GT model I have the mounting stuff.I can measure the frame where you need to mount the yokes. The yokes you have if they were on a 345 your in luck because they need to be shorter I'll measure them(345 4" yours 2 1/2) so you'll get the proper length.
