Default 1963 IH COE in the movie Real Steel..I LOVE that thing! (pic)

I always have had a thing for big old ugly trucks. I've seen a ton of old IH conventionals. Heck, they made them forever. I even got my CDL driving one.
But I never saw a COE version in my life, not even a photo.
That truck in Real Steel was worth going to the movie for to me. Don't have a photo of it, but I found one on the web of a similar model.
Those windows in the nose (with wipers no less) were the finishing touch!
If I was rich and has an excuse I'd have one of those.
That is gorgeously ugly. An Oxymoron if there ever was one.

Growing up in a family of truck drivers, that's a first for me!

I'll have to see "Real Steel" as soon as possible.

You're right, that is UGLY! Years ago as a young lad, I got badgered into hauling hay for the summer in a miserable 1967 CO-4000 Transtar. God I hated that thing. Worn out leaky old 238 Detroit, no air ride, no power steering and no AC. Just a little fan on the dash that blew furnace heat back in your face, and a bunk you wouldn't put a hog in! The turns were only about 40 miles, but between loading and unloading bales. and driving that hot dirty wreck covered in hay and sweat, they were tough miles my friend! I love that crazy, ugly old iron as well. You kind of have to wonder what the designer was thinking (or on) when they put that to manufacture.

While I didn't find this model truck on the site , if you ever wonder what vehicle was used in a movie or how many movies a vehicle was used in, this is a great site for that information
http://www.imcdb.org/ if its a GTtractor or car or military it generally will show up ,just use the search page with whatever information you have .

I did find another photo of that model IH here's what I found

Its called a Sightliner. Built for quite a while. Now I have something else to add to my Bucket list. Not to own, but just to see in real life.

And to make something weird even weirder...

Here's a mobile home transporter made by the Whattoff Motor Company, based on a Sightliner. It was modified to have either a long or short wheelbase to get around maximum lenght restrictions. Here it is in the long configuration:

...and short:

Note the two different driveshafts used.

I wouldn't even want to think of driving that bobtail in the short version on an icy road.

I would assume so you could see what was right in front of the truck.

The short version of the mobile home toter would certainly be a handful on its own. I think it's shorter than a Jeep CJ-5!
