Default Garage in a box

I recently have been looking for some thing to use as a work shop to work on all of my tractors. The cheapest and fastest building I could find was the 12x20 garage in a box. It is only $270.00 at my local tractor supply store. What I am asking is if anyone has bought one and could tell me there experience with it. Here is what it looks like!

I like it......But the only thing stopping me would be you and me get a lot of snow sometimes.....Will it hold up to a foot or more of the white stuff ?????? I am looking for something for my sons torn apart Luv that he is working on and that looks prefect............John.........

Two things,
1.Snow must be cleared ASAP and that means during a storm too.
2. Use a cheap tarp over it to keep the sun off of it as much as possible.

P.S. I have two of them, the one in the woods, very little sun has lasted longer than the other one that sits in the sun, top started to fray after only two years. A friend covered his with a cheap tarp and its about 10 years old and on it's 4th or 5th cheap tarp but the real one still looks real good. I think between the sun, sap, birds etc. really can take a lot of life out of them if not protected somehow.

Snow is an issue. I had 5' resting on 1 of my tent garages, and it took it ( older northeast shelter frame, with shelterlogic cover ) but I don't think it will take it again.. same 5' storm took down the HF tent garage, which is made by Big Top ( sold elsewhere also ).. Also, you need hurricane anchors ( shelterlogic sells them ). the spikes these companies supply are a joke. They pull out easy and a wind storm will relocate the garage real quick..

I am a little concened about the snow but this building is really all I can afford. I am slowly running out of space. My 8x8 shed is stacked to the roof with mowerdecks, snow blowers, trimmers, baggers and a ton of spare lawn mower parts. I recently picked 10 more tractors for $300.00 and can not leave them outside for the winter. All together now I have 12 tractors and a ton of other stuff so I think I have made my decision of buying the garage in a box. Thank you for all of your help! I will update everyone when I get it. It still might be 1 or 2 weeks though. Thanks!

My large northeast frame is over 20 years old. bought used, and put on a shelterlogic cover ( bought out northeasts line ) cover is now 10 years old and showing it's age, but it's still holding up. next year it will need replaced.. that is also 10 winters. just keep the snow off them. I use a broom on the inside. push up and the snow slides off.. The 1st HF big top lasted 4 years until the tarp failed. But we put a large canvas tarp over it and it lasted another 2 years until the 5' of snow overweighted the frame

I put up one of the ShelterLogic Garage-in-a-box storage sheds 2 years ago, and it's doing fine - so far!

The only issue I have, is the condensation that forms on the inside, freezes and falls down on everything inside. I put in a vent in the front, and one in the rear, but it still gets really warm in there. Don't think there's enough air movement.

Considering putting a treated wood foundation in, setting the frame on it and putting in a better floor - just gravel now. Need to try and mouse proof it a bit more, too. I was thinking about putting up some 2" high density foam (the pink stuff), and maybe that would help on the condensation. Or, another thought, was to add some clear plastic sheathing suspended from the frame, and the ice pellets would fall on that, and not all over everything else. Thoughts? Comments?

Thanks,
Rich

I finally bought the garage in a box today $330.00 with tax at my local tractor supply store. I plan on putting it up tomorrow and it looks like it is going to be a chore. I cant wait to get it up so I can get to work on my tractors!

I'm on third year with my 12 by 20. It's been great ,also cut vent hole in the two ends and added better anchor. Also knock off heavy snows, and it has a gravel floor too. Got mine from farm & fleet.
