1990 Sears LTII 12/38 6 speed 917.254920
This is (one of) the worst spots for play/slop in the strg column unit on my, an others sears tractors, and ya can't buy'em anymore. AYP probably used them on a lot of their other older tractors also Of course they are plastic an wear out in no time anyway even when they are new. Mine was shot, so I decided to go a different way. The new bronze bushing needed thinned down a little in a drill press with a file, an the hole in the plastic part needed rounded out some with a dremel. Once I got it to where it fit snug in the plastic part, I JB welded it in. Now its a permanent part in the plastic strg support. Bronze bushing came from the tractor store in those little pick a part boxs,$2.59 It is 3/4 id by 7/8 od an 3/4 long with a flange. Click on the pics for a blowed up version to read the package Now I got something to grease once or twice a year, an will out last the tractor an me. Might wanna make this an ayp/sears sticky or not

After 10 pages I quit, thats why I did what I did. Tulsa engine is the only one that appears to have one, until you get hold of them an find it is an out of stock part that ayp has discontinued an they can't get them anymore. Everybody you go to says discontinued, obsolete, etc, etc, etc. Try an find me one an I'll buy it an make a mold of it that is a little bigger to hold a bronze bushing like I put in mine...... Aircraft parts with that same # don't count......hehehehe
