Default How much is my Cub Lowboy 154 Worth?

I own a International Cub Lowboy 154 with a woods 72 inch belly mower deck. It is in decent condition. The paint in faded. The front fiberglass nosepiece is busted up pretty badley. It runs really well. New clutch and throw out bearing that I have installed in it. Ive mowed with the tractor many times and ive noticed that there is a little smoke comming out of the blow by tube. Is this fairly normal? I would like to know what this thing is worth because I really have no use for it, and am probably going to sell it on craigslist pretty quickly. Thanks guys, enjoy the holiday weekend!

First---a picture. Does it have 3pt h., wide or narrow turf tires, condition of pto clutches. These are decent tractors, though underpowered, they still have appeal to collectors. Also, didn't know Woods made a 72" mower for them. Most always were 60".

Sorry I can't get pictures until after the holiday, too busy. But the tractor doesn't have three point. It has the wide turk tires witch are basically brand new. As I said, i replaced the clutch.

Cub Lo Boys are not bringing that much these days. I have a 154, 185 and just bought a 184 w/60" woods deck and front snow blade from local IH dealer for $1100. Has the wide turf tires and has been stored inside all of its life.
I purchased my 185 w/3pt, steering brakes and bad engine and no deck for $500 and the 154 I got for $800 with deck only, no 3pt but ran good.

I sold one I should have kept. I had a 184 with steering brakes and creeper. Rebuilt it and even had new decals. Sold for $2000...wish I had kept it and found a 3pt.

Numbered Lo Boys pricing depends on condition, steering brakes, deck type, tire/wheels, 3pt, condition of PTO belts and PTO clutch as well as drive clutch. One problem with the 154 and 185 is the rear mounted clutch. When it goes out you will spend some money fixing it. Not an easy fix usually. Also check the bull gears. Lots of times they are run dry and the bearings are junk. ALso, the 154 and 185 are starter generator models where as the 184 is a ring gear starter and alternator.

Well I bought the tractor hoping to resell it. I bought it for $700.00, but it needed a new head put on it. So I did that, and replaced the primary clutch as well. I have had it on craigslist, ebay and locally. No interest. I'm asking $1500. I thought that was a fair price for a good runner like mine is. Am
i that far off? Thaks for the replies.

I've had two number series LoBoys, a 154 and a 185. I'm a fan of the little tractors, but they do have their weak points. Relatively low on power, and the transmissions are a bit slow for mowing in 2nd gear and way too fast in 3rd.

The fiberglass nose piece is tough to find in good shape. I've heard of reproductions being made, but last I heard they were running around $200.00 if you could find one.

In my area, a good running 154 that mows well and looks good (good nose piece, fair to average paint) might bring $1,000-1,200.00 with no attachments other than the deck, no 3 point, and no steering brakes. They're occasionally listed for more, but usually wind up relisted a few times. In other areas though, a good runner can fetch $1,500-2,000.00. Usually seems to be the northeastern region commands a little more money.

Well I guess if it isnt worth as much as I had hoped. Maybe I will just replace the nose; repaint it and use it as a show piece for my painting business. That could possibly bring in some more interest during slow times. Thanks guys for helping me figure out the price on this bad boy.
