Default Anyone know if this will fit my mower

I'm looking at a grass catcher that someone is selling and trying to find out if it will work on my mower or not. Definately don't want to purchase anything that I can't use.

My mower is a JD LA135.

The only part number of any kind that we can find on the grass catcher is GX20398. That is found on the chute tube. Google searches mention a 48" deck. John Deere doesn't recognize it as their part number. So not sure what to think.

If someone can assist, that would be great.

Thanks,
James

james, pictures would work wonders here! Did you try going on the JD site for your model and check attachments to see if it resembles the grass catcher you will need?

That part number is for the UPPER bagger tube, the bagger for your tractor will have the cargo mount system to attach it to the rear hitch plate in 2 slots and a rod with 2 ends to hook into the cargo mount on your rear fenders. The LOWER tube will say "48" on it in LARGE numbers. If the bagger is correct but the tubes are not, you can purchase the correct tubes for about $90.

Dan

Edit: JD parts DOES recognize that number and it does appear to be the correct UPPER tube to fit your machine, you still have to make sure everything else is correct because that tube fits a whole plethora of tractors.

ahhhh...so there's another tube? I was wondering what you may have been referring to about the lower tube.

I just saw a PDF that shows it pretty clear:

http://www.powerplaceinc.com/LA100%2...20Tractors.pdf

One quick question, are parts like this pretty universal? This looks pretty identical to the catcher on my Craftsman mower.

No,
The upper bagger and bags were the same for over 20 years on JD tractors, the bagger post and tubes are model specific. The post fits any of the tractors with the cargo mount system, the upper tube should also fit those machines, the LOWER tube is deck specific.
How much are they asking for what they have there?

That's actually not a bad deal, I just sold a brand new one for $250 and had many interested parties. I would offer $75 and if they take it, just pick up the lower tube, no big deal. That bagger complete is worth $200 easy.
