Default gator Blades for LTX 1046

Well folks, I have wanted a set of gators for my 1046 since I bought it. However I wrote last year, and was told not until 2011. Well I wrote to them yesterday wanting to find a set. This is the response I got from tech services.........

The Gator Mulcher® blades were delayed but they tell me we should have them around September. Sorry for the delay.

When going to the website be sure you go to “USA- Professionals”. There you will find a new “Lawn Mower Blade Selector Guide” under parts lookup. This link will take you to it.

http://www.oregonchain.com/pro/looku...adelookup.aspx

For other than blades you can use the “ Outdoor Equipment Parts Lookup” at this link. http://www.oregonchain.com/lookups/powersearch.aspx

You can also use our online catalog at this link. http://www.oregonchain.com/pro/2011Catalog.htm

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Thanks,

So if you are looking for a set of gators for you LTX don't go looking too far yet.... I want them mostly for leaf pick up in the fall so they should arrive at the right time.......

Dave - Were you able to get Gator blades for your 1046 ? I have a 2012 LTX 1046 KW which the dealer installed mulching blades and a mulching plug on for me when new. Based on what I read I would like to install Gator blades too so I do not leave as much behind when mowing (mowed 4½" grass at the 3¾" height yesterday and left long lines of grass clippings behind).

Thanks

I have a LTX 1046KW myself, I found the Gator Mulcher's are made for our tractors. The Oregon # is 96-401, Agrisupply, Jack'ssmallengines, and Tulsaengine warehouse all have them. I received mine last week, I haven't used them yet. I have found just searching for Cub blades doesn't show this blade, but, if you use 96-401 in the search box on all 3 sites, they show up. I wish these dealers would upgrade their sites, they would probably sell more blades if they did, BTW, the # for the regular blade is 98-096, all 3 sites have them too.

I have used the 98-096 for over a year now, good blades. The 96-401 are the same dimension, I overlayed them, on the 98-096, 23&1/4 with the Y center, I'm sure they'll work. I even weighed the standard blade, it was 2# 3oz., 98-096 weighed 2# 14 oz., the 96-401 weighed 2# 10 oz. Oregon blades hold an edge better than Cub blades, at least for me, I'm cutting Bermuda. 96-401 are G-3 blades. Good luck.

Thanks - I ordered them from Jacks - should be here in a few days. I figure I will have one more mowing to do before they arrive and are fitted, the rate the grass is growing right now it needs mowing every 4 days.

I just provided a brief update on the first use of my G6's at :

Yes they were painted when I received them but that paint soon wore off, they are razor sharp now after 50 minutes of mowing

I'm still searching for the G6 for my LTX1046KW.

I'm assuming that they don't make them at this point, cuz all I can find is the G3.

I put a set on my lt 1045, 3 blade. I didn't like them at all they didn't mulch as good as the stock blades. If I wasn't mulching they really threw the grass, but for what I wanted they didn't work out at all.
