may seem like a silly question. i have a 240d and have problems hooking up attachments to the rear. main problem the lower arms do not stay out. really hard to hook up one person. any help. i did purchase one of the quick connectors but wont work on some of my attachments. must be doing something wrong should not be this hard. ideas?

Some attachments are not made to the precise specifications for the quick attach 3 point to function correctly. You can modify your implements so they are to specification.

As far as hooking up the implements, I lower the lift arms all the way, back up so the tractor is centered on the implement, then, by hand, lift up one side of the lift arms and pull it out around the pin on the implement. When the other side is touching the pin, I push or kick it out to the side, around the pin, line up the one I'm holding, pin it, then do the other side. You could run a bungee cord or something I guess, but it's never been that tough for me.

That's not much help, but it takes some practice to get the tractor lined up correctly and get the hang and timing of attaching things.

i agree with that concept. except the arms are inside and will not go past the implement without hitting seems like i need some sort of temporary spreader. p.s this is not my first tractor just seems to be the worse for i man hook up

I have the same problems too. It helps to have the 3 pt. adjusters all in working order. I know I got better with practice. I still have bad days

I guess I still don't understand the issue. Are you having trouble with interference on the tires or hitting the end of the check chains? That is, will the arms not spread far enough apart to mount onto your implements? Or do you just want the lift arms to stay spread wide open on their own?

If the latter, you may be able to run a bungee cord from each lift arm out to its check chain mount, to keep them spread.
