Default briggs push rod Steal or Aluminum

Hello everyone

Recently got a Briggs that has a broken push rod, I bought a new one 691758 which is aluminum, On the Briggs website, it states the aluminum is for exhaust. Many Google searches says opposite. I would think aluminum is for the intake, can someone guide me in the right direction. This is a OHV Vtwin.

Not sure about your Briggs, but both of mine.
Models, 422437 1209 01, and 42A707 1238 01
have steel push rods

On B&S Intek and Vangard, intake p-rod is steel, exhaust is aluminum.

First off, 42 series B&S engines do not have push rods. Second, B&S Intek OHV engines AND single cylinder B&S OHV Vanguards use aluminum push rods on Intake Valve. Vanguard V Twins use aluminum push rod on EXHAUST valve.

Where the aluminum push rod is used depends on WHICH valve is involved in compression release.
