And indeed it does. After I complete the restoration on the 24G, it is next in line for some badly needed maintenance (again the previous owner neglected it) and some fresh paint.

I dragged home the attachments today. It looks like at some point the plow won out as the tool for doing snow removal over the snow thrower. The plow is showing signs of use, such as wallowed out holes in the handle that controls the angle of the plow. I guess this makes sense given how infrequently we get large snowfalls.

Or maybe the snow thrower was retired for other reasons. Anyone here missing a extension cord and clothes line?

I got it unloaded. Man, that snow thrower weighs about as much as my box store mower (without me on it!).

The tractor had the S/N on the engine mount plate. It is 17402A which makes it a 1973 if my research is correct.

The Onan is a CCKA-MS/211G S/N 0473618690

Speaking of Onan, I could snag this if I want. But I would probably only grab if it could be used to fix up the tractor. It is currently in a trashed 1992 RV. Anyone ever convert an 816 to run on propane?

Yes, it looks like the plow got the nod more often than not. There's not much left on the edge. You're going to enjoy using both the plow, and especially the blower.

Does the sproket turn the drum without disengaging from drum at all?

I would get the gen set. Fix it up and sell it or keep it and use it when the electricity fails.

I had a little time to tinker with the tractor today. The tires held air, the rear are showing rot and the front look like there were new. I winched it away from the weeds and got the trans to shift by rocking it back and forth a bit, thanks for that tip. So at least it is a roller now and will be easier to load on the trailer. This also unstuck the PTO and I was able to turn the engine over several full revolutions by hand.

I took the mower deck off. The leading edge of the housing looks like it was used as a plow a few times. The main issue with the deck is that one of the three spindles for the blades was sheared off and only about 1/4" of threads are still there.

I did get one more part for the snow thrower, a mount that looks like it attaches to the lift bar and then forward to the bottom of the blower. I got the long part initially and just got the smaller triangle shaped part that goes with it today. Sadly I think the long PTO shaft for the blower is gone.

I dragged it home today to start cleaning and tearing into it to see what's what.

The engine and tranny cleaned up nice.

The battery tray was so bad I was not sure at first if it was bolted or welded on.

I had to use the cutting wheel to get the bolts off the frame and the bolts that hold the hydraulic switch.

It was pretty dirty under there. I just wondered how much rust there would be under it all....

Luckily it was not too bad! There is still plenty of metal at the top of the frame rail also.

Here is a picture of the additional bracket that goes with the snow thrower.

Next I am going to give the engine a once over and see if I can get it to fire off.

Wow, that cleaned up really nicely! Yours looks to be the same vintage as mine, but I think I spy keyed clutches instead of splines.

The battery tray is NLA new, but they are on ebay all the time.

Keep up the good work and keep posting those pics!

If it were mine, I would take the fuel tank down to the tank shop and have them give it the once over.

That Onan CCKA looks good. If it doesn't smoke or knock you have a winner there. I have a Kohler 18hp Magnum and a Onan CCKA. It seems like the Onan 16 has more torque than the Kohler 18 hp.

Looks good. Glad to see that there is still plenty of metal left on the frame.

Hope all goes well with the engine firing. Keep us up to date and thanks for the great pics.

What a difference a little power washing will make. The motor and trans. look good. I noticed that the hydraulics all look good too. It looks like you have all the makings of a nice tractor.
