Nice pics Sonny, I always liked the styling of that series of tractors. Nice lines and a sharp looking grill.

It sure was a handy little dude! Power you wouldn't believe! I think it's about the same size as our 504----and 404 that we have now.
Dasch's 454 was the next size down. Uncles were going with 454, but dealer had 464 on hand, and they wanted a roadside mower tractor and went with 7 foot woods mower and 464 tractor! thanks; sonny

Look at that flat land , takes me back to Quincy and Ursa Ill. where I was born and raised. I moved away in 78 . It`s a big memiory of the young years for me , I worked for several farmers in the area.

I just purchased my first tractor. It is an International Harvester 464 according to the cowl decal. I have been trying to identify it more completely so that I can order a parts catalogue. Serial number on data plate is gone. When comparing to other 464's online I see that it is not set up the same on most components. Can someone help identify what I have here so that I can order some parts? Thanks in advance for your help!

"Lesshannon" it certainly is not a 464, the engine mounted hydraulic pump gives it away!!!
Probably a 444, Definitely a British built m/c !! the serial no is actually complete !! *A440003 is the Kind Code (Tractor build) B means built in Great Britain & 002679* is the actual serial no !! Unfortunately i don't have a list of "kind Codes" to be sure of model , I presume the engine is a 4 cylinder?? Could do with more photo's of gear levers and hydraulic controls , in front of and at side of seat !! |

Yes, definitely a 444 fitted with the BD 154 indirect injection Diesel engine. Keep the glow plugs good and she will always start well.
A good reliable m/c and plenty of parts out there to keep them going. Do you need a factory (IH) service manual ?? I sell these in PDF format on a CD Rom ??. Last edited by cyrush; 12-12-2012 at 06:18 AM. Reason: Xxxxx |
