Default Berco remote chute deflector seized

I have a 2005 Berco Northeast 44" snow thrower (# 700374) that works great except for one thing. I purchased the remote chute deflector (# 700239) two winters ago, and from time to time since new the chute control has frozen up inside the telescoping mechanism inside the spring attached to the chute itself. The cable is fine. In the past I have been able to thaw it out either by using a hair drier or even just breathing on it for a few moments. Not anymore. For the last week it has been seized in place, even at temps well above freezing.

Anyone ever seen this or have any suggestions? I can't get at the telescoping rod without taking it all apart because the rod is inside the tension spring.

Other than taking it off and soaking it in anti-freeze or maybe lubricating it with low vis synthetic oil
however
this is now available
Haven't done one myself, kinda hard to justify since I live right on that snow/rain line for the past 4 storms

I figured it out. The outer sheath had bent a little bit. I straightened it and the inner sleeve can slide in and out now. It was binding before.
