Default Bolens 1050 keyswitch ?

The other day I was trying to start my 1050 and one of the poles broke broke off of the back of the switch. It is the switch that has three poles on it. One for ingnition, one for the starter and one for the battery. I tried to find one at the local Napa but the only three poled switchs they had were for magneto ignition. Does anyone know were I can get a new one or a part number so I can take it to Napa to have them look it up.

Thnaks Matt

that sounds like the wrong ing switch for the 1050- does it have a push button starter switch on it? should be 5 spades on the back i `m pretty sure

I have been layed up with a new hip and a bad knee, but I will see if I can get the part number for the switch. I also think it a 5 bladed switch. What does the wiring diagram show?

thanks teapot

I believe that it is the original switch since the tractors wiring seems to be untouched or modified. Also my 850 has the same switch in it and the wiring is original to it.

Attached are the wiring diagram for a 1050 Bolens ignition switch with battery ignition and the Napa cat page of two switches which will probably work but you would have to change the wire ends from eye to spade terminals and only use the B,I, and S terminals - 7-01854 and 7-01892 -(diffferent diameter mounting stem - 9/16" or 5/8"). At the bottom of the wiring diagram page it shows the connections of the orignal switch in each position ( I=ignition B=battery S=solenoid) off - no connection, on - connection from battery to ignition, and start - connection from battery to ignition and solenoid. Double check with an ohmmeter to verify the circuits work the same before buying or installing - hope this helps
