Default Source on used Airplane Tires

Hi guys,

I have a small trailer that I use to pull an ATV, and I use it behind the ATV in the yard. Great little home made trailer my dad built when in the Navy. (early 70's)

Anyway, since he was in the navy when he built it, he used pretty much what ever was laying around. He used airplane tires / wheels, built some custome hubs in the machine shop, etc.

The tires are now over 30 years old and the tread is comming off one of them. Due to the design, I have to stay with airplane tires. Does anyone know where I could pick up some used ones? I thought about going to the local airport and seeing what I could find. Tire Size 6.50 - 8

6.50-8 is used a lot by Cessna on their 310 series. I think its also used as a nose tire on some caravan models as well. Try looking at some airports wit general avaition repair stations. Not airline or military. They will probably have what you need. I can probably get them here on the field where I work.

I think the no-flats ;ink will take you to Gensco corporation. They are in Houston Tx. and now also in Anniston, Al.They are the #1 supplier of airplane tires for aftermarket use. They have a real great method of cutting down the bead so you can get them mounted on a standard rim! They offer tires in just about any size and tread you can imagine, from used take-offs to newly recapped tires! Just do a goggle and give them a call!!
