Default Shear bolt size for 44" select series blower

The dealer never gave me the manual for my blower, so if anyone would let me know the size of the shear bolt for the 44" select series snow blower, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Try the John Deere Parts Catalog

Probably need to start with your tractor and work your way through accessories.

If you bought the blower new, the 4 shear bolts and nuts come with it.
Edit=here is a manual.

Go to the hardware store and get some 6mm soft bolts and lock nuts.

So would those "soft" bolts be scored properly to be used as a shear bolt? Shear bolts are just that, designed and machined with a weakened spot to give way long before any solid bolt will, and it will break in a manner where it will not damage either parts of the blower/auger. Hey, it's your stuff, It's just that I believe in using the proper safety valves on my equipment.

Replacing Shear Bolts
IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! Replacement shear bolts must be same as original shear bolts on attachment:

Softer bolts can shear too easily.

Harder bolts may not shear and attachment can be damaged.

NOTE: Four spare M6x45 auger shear bolts and M6 nuts are provided in the bag of parts.

I keep the 4 in the tool holder next to the seat so they are with me, but even on my old #49 I only replaced 1 in 25 years. ( asphalt drive but I ran into the cement steps in a 3 foot blizzard oops !!) I didn't exactly say oops, but it did had a S in it !!

My dealer was kind enough to assemble the blower and install it for me .... so I didn't get any bag of parts or the manual. The "shear" bolt that was currently in there was just a threaded bolt, threaded the entire way. I'm use to the shear bolts that are scored.

Thanks for the manual and I'll have to see if I can find the spare shear bolts.

Mine Dealer did too and gave me the Manual and bolts and anything else in the plastic bag from JD. They were there from JD in the crate !!
Same bolts as mine Mark Those are the correct ones !!

I took one of the original bolts that came with my blower and matched it with bolts from the hardware store. The number on the bolt head indicates the hardness. I have been useing these for the last 2 years, have sheared several and they work fine.
