Look under the seat for an identification plate...

If no sticker on the rear fender pan (under the seat), the age could be approximated by the engine codes, if the original engine.

Looks like a Craftsman LT1000 with a 5 or 6 speed tranny, with a missing grill. The plow looks like its raised/lowered using the mower deck control which puts it around the 90's. But the 'real' info is on the decal under the seat.

I was thinking it looked more like a GT3000 or a GT something...

Question Re: 1999?? Craftsman Garden Tractor Green in color What Model???

Its not a LAWN tractor. Definately Garden tractor size. Larger rear tires. Kohler engine is 2 cylinder. I have this machine in the new barn so I will have to go look this weekend under the seat.

Another site suggested this is a 917.273200.......What kind a model number system is that!!!!

Mine is a 2002 GT3000 with a number of 917.275013 - that's just the way Sears number them.

I'm gueesing that's what it is. 2003 they changed over colors to the Red or Silver tractors. Mid 1998-2001 used a different light setup. I didn't think they were using a 24 pro, it should be the 20.
This is by memory so correct me if I'm wrong.

This is a late 1990's era 24hp. I think it is a lighter duty than some I have seen but it is a garden tractor. It does NOT have a tranny range selector

Yep, it's hydro whereas mine is a 3 speed with Hi/Lo range (but only 23hp)

Looks just like my 2000 GT with 24hp Kohler Pro and hydro transaxle. Mine came with a 50" deck though. My model number is 917.273223.

It looks identical to my '99 GT, 917.273221. There was no model designation. The owners manual title reads: 24.0HP Electric start 50" mower automatic Garden Tractor. They had some variations as far as deck size and trans, but they all looked the same.
It is 'Heavy Duty' as far as Craftsmans go, has the same frame as the GT 5000 and DGT6000 I had, and it's heavier(weight wise) than my SS16.
I use it for moving dirt and hauling, never have bogged the engine or stalled the trans, just lose traction, even with filled HDAPs.

edit: After re-reading your sig, it is obviously light-duty to you.

Yes I believe you are correct in all your info. I have been doing research. So this model was the "HEAVY DUTY" machine for its time??

I bought this more as a TOY than anything...LOL

I hope to get it up and running good enough to play in the snow anyway...

Thank you all for your help. I will try and post pics soon.
