Looks like a nice little machine, in good shape, this is all the JD website has on this non current production model, http://www.deere.com/en_US/homeowner...html?link=enav , there is still and online manual available for viewing in the 6th. link down under manuals on that link.

We have an LT155 we bought 10 years ago, I change the oil and oil filter and air filter every fall and grease it.

We haven't had to fix anything on it, zero nothing.

We have a 38'' deck and it has grease fittings on it, but they say don't grease it there, just for the factory set up only.

In the last 4 years it has been getting oil and dirt around the mainly lower end of the motor, probably an oil pan gasket, but it doesn't hurt anything so I don't monkey with it.

It only cuts grass and runs a lawn sweeper to pick up leaves and grass clippings.

So a good two hours when we cut grass, I use a walk behind for the edges.

We have hauled some pretty good loads of dirt out of the compost and spread on the garden, but not enough to say we really did much in that case.

I don't know if we got lucky, but this one has been a really good one, like the belt, I don't even know what it looks like, just drive it.

One more thing we always use stabil and it has never set out all night.

I guess I haven't replaced a spark plug or monkeyed with something not running right for the last 30 years.

Anyway, we really like the one we have, the dealer said its the equivalent to an x300 he says.

I guess I could also mention this.

We don't mulch with it and never have, and as I mentioned it has a 38'' deck.

So I don't have a clue if a bigger deck or the fact somebody might have mulched with it would effect the wear on it, but I'm guessing it would.

My wife uses a 155 to mow that we bought new in 2000. We have an acre and my wife is very hard on that little puppy. In spite of this, it has held up very well mechanically through the years. Two deck belts, that's it. I do regular maintenance on it. The hood and grill look like they been through a rough episode on IRT, but no complaints on the reliability or performance.

I have an LT 155. Used only for mowing about an acre of grass on a weekly basis. No major issues so far. Has the 38" mulching deck. It is easy to convert to a regular deck by removing the baffles on the discharge shute. This is only required when mowing really tall grass. The mulcher does a great job on leaves.

If this unit has been sitting for two years, I would drain the old gas and expect to clean and rebuild the carb. You might need a new battery as well.
