Hello Everyone!
I finally got a few minutes to take some pics of my recently acquired Cub Cadet 108. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The dump cart and plow blade came with it. The contents of the fuel tank looked like this: ![]() And the float bowl had this green and black stuff in it: ![]() The float is coated with the green stuff, too, and it doesn't seem to want to come off with carb cleaner. Any ideas?

The 108 looks pretty good.
![]() I purchased a gallon ( paint can type ) container of Berryman's Carb Cleaner at my local Auto Zone for about $20. It has a strainer in the container. Your carb looks sparkling clean compared to the carb on my 122. A 20 minute soak followed by a water rinse ( per directions on the can ) worked wonders. I did find out I had a slight pin hole in my float as it made a sloshing sound when I shook it after rinsing but I already had another one. Berkebile Gum Cutter is second on my list on favorite carb cleaners. That comes in a spray can for about $3-$4 |

That's a nice IH number 2 dump cart. Got a friend who has one and they won't sell it even though they don't have a Cub anymore. It looks kind of funny behind there Simplicity.

Jeff, I took your advice and bought the Berryman's can, so I'll be pulling the carb off. I was able to get the carburator repair kit at the NAPA down the street, so that'll be fun.
As for the #2 dump cart, shortly after I picked this one up, I saw one for sale online (can't remember where) in similar shape, for $275! I only paid $300 for the whole setup. Before I attempt to start the engine, I have a new plug, new fuel line, fuel filter and air filter, and a new battery. I'm also going to change the oil. Am I forgetting anything?
