how do I figure out the year of my 216? All parts seem to be there, the hood has no cracks, the seat is cracked, there are 499 hours on it and it runs great. I payed $450 for it and replaced the deck bearings and both belts and a new battery so maybe another 200 in it. Just wondering if I got a good deal?

I'd say you did real good

Just look at what $700 would buy you today. To find the year post the serial number here or go over to www.weekendfreedommachines.com and look under model info and you can find it yourself.

Sounds like you got a good deal, if it's running well, no serious body damage and is a complete machine. Pretty basic tractor, but will do almost anything you want.

The 216 model was introduced in 1979 and made through 1987.

SN# C216 95001-120,000----1979
C216 120,001-155,000--1980
C216 155,001-190,000--1981
C216 190-001-222,000--1982
M00216T 222,001-285,000---1983
M00216T 285,001-315,000---1984
M00216T 315,001-360,000---1985
M00216T 360,001-420,000---1986
M00216T 420,001-475,000---1987

All the 200 series were consecutively numbered, so 210, 212, 214 and 216 will all be intermingled.
