I found a 332 Diesel for sale locally..... I've been looking for a diesel Cub or JD project to keep me busy and out of trouble -and out of the house!!
There's a 332 in town with 3200 hours on it! The tractor is complete, and very solid.... The engine was rebuilt a couple hundred hours ago. I don't know what the rebuild included, but the engine is very clean and smoke free. The breather from the top of the motor smokes a little bit, but I'm guessing it's oil vapor. It starts right up, and works perfectly. Here's my dilemma, I can't find much info on the Yanmar 3TN66UJ engine. Does anyone have experience with this engine? Any thoughts, or opinions are greatly appreciated! Also, What would you pay for a complete 332 with deck and bagger system? |

Well the 332 is coveted by many, and if I get a chance I'd like to have one as a back-up tractor. Would find out just what the rebuild was about and who did it. But these old tractors were designed for a lifetime and with proper maintenance will see many of us to our graves! I was at PA Plow day this year and the 332 and 430's were tearing it up the best! I'll let some of the guys that own them provide you the detail though. Yanmar engine is supposed to be one of the best though!

They were build from 1987-1992 so lets say it is a 1989 that is only 152.4hrs a year that is not that much. I have a 1997 455 with a yanmar 2250hrs that is 173.1hrs a year. Price depending I would buy it.

The 3 cyl Yanmar is/was one of the best built; My understanding Why the tractor was a slow seller. was the cost of the diesel engine, And buyers were a bit afraid of the diesel in a garden tractor . They put a carb system on that block and it was a reasonable , selling tractor; It is not unusal to have 4500 hours on the engine before an overhaul, If you have use for it , BUY,,
