Default 1975 Jc Penny Lawn Tractor

I am new to this world of "tractors." My dad has his 1975 Jc Penny Lawn tractor that is mustard yellow...I grew up mowing the yard with it...is that mower rare, or does anyone have any info on those models? I found it wierd that Jc Penny had thier own tractor.

Can you post a picture?

Simplicity made a tractor for JC Penny in 1975, see the link.

It's not rare, two of my neighbors have them too. JC Penny's USED to sell a much more diversified selection of items than they do now. At one time they were almost on a par with Sears, (tools, yard equipment, firearms, auto department, etc) at least they were here where I live. I bought my first shotgun at Penny's years ago, not something you'll find there now. Not sure how many years they sold lawn tractors but anybody can put a decal on a machine and call it theirs.

If it is the Simplicity/AC model that JC Pennys sold, it is actually a pretty nice little tractor.

My neighbor has one too, loud little machine, but mows pretty well. Since i am so into tractors now, i am inclined to help him fix it up a bit!
